5/15/2017 – 2nd week of Late Spring

Haven’t had much of a chance to do anything in the garden. The onions are up and a few seeds have sprouted. Definitely need to get some weeding and mulching done.

Been planting my tree seeds. So far I have planted the oaks and black walnuts along the Medial rows, honeylocust along the East and West rows, and hawthorn in the Radial rows. Deviating slightly from plan, but that’s fine. I have also been replanting volunteer black locust on the South row and blackberries along the West row.

Finally, I have been mowing a lot. I am trying to get rid of the Canada Thistle infestation. So the mowing is to prevent flowering. Next step is start spraying. The plan is to use clopyralid or clopyralid and 2,4-D
