6/8/2014 – 5th of Early Summer

  • Finished planting the last row of tomatoes. Now I need to plant cowpeas next or replant okra. Think I might go with the okra so I am not rushing the peas with the cowpeas. Regardless, the higher priority needs to be weeding and mulching.
  • Started another flat of honeylocusts cuttings. Since I am out of perlite, these are also in compost. I haven’t seen any roots yet, but they haven’t died and are developing pre-root bumps.
  • Sprayed the Thistles in part of the garden section. Need to finish spraying and mowing it so I can lay plastic down before planting rye. May not mess with buckwheat this year.
