8/9/2013 – 4th of Late Summer

  1. Harvested some of the Mandan Bride and Speckled Chief corn. What the bugs didn’t eat, the non-stop rain rotted. Not much salvageable but their is more still maturing. I think I will interplant what I get with Painted Mountain next year.
  2. Noticed a green Roma tomato and several Porter tomatoes. Haven’t seen any more jalapenos, but several of the sweet peppers have fruit.
  3. Picked a couple more sand plums. I have a cup and half so now I am trying to make the shrub. Mixed the plums with an equal measure of sugar and letting them sit in the fridge overnight.
  4. The bunnies seem to be doing ok. Terrified that they are going to jump out of my hands and get lost in the house. Since I am uncertain of their exact age, I have decided that they are four weeks old as of today.
