7/26/12 – 23rd day of Middle Summer

Animals: 3 eggs from the red coop. 4 eggs from the white. Spent the evening putting the wheels on the coop and moving them out to the garden. The theory is that they will eat all the weeds and then I will lay down mulch behind them. Moved some of the chicks from the incubator to the brooder. Lost track of the count, but I think there are 9 in the brooder and 3 in the incubator. At least 2 have died while pecking out of the shell.

Weather: Supposedly got a 0.25 in of rain last night in, but I don’t think we saw much of it. The high in Wichita was 97F at 17h00. The low was 75F at 07h00.

Sampled too much mead (only one glass, I swear) so I didn’t get much else done.
