One of projects the wife and I are working on this year has been to build a portable dome shelter. The plan is to build an 8’ radius 2V dome using 1/2” electrical conduit. So far we took thirty five 10’ pieces of conduit and cut them into 5.3’ and 4.7’ lengths. Tonight we went over to our friend Adam’s house. He had a 6 ton press to flatten and bend the ends and a drill press to put holes in them. We got all thirty five of the long poles and all thirty of the short poles flattened and bent. Not sure of the exact dimensions but I think the flattened area was about 2” long. The angle of the bend really doesn’t matter, just needed a little bend. Adam drilled holes while we were bending using a 25/64” bit to drill the holes about 1/2” from the ends. That went slow so only about 11 of the long poles and 24 of the short poles drilled.
Only 2 eggs today. These were both from the same coop.
